I'm Moving!

Hello everyone! I know it's been so long since I've written anything, but I've just been super busy lately with work and life. BUT i have some exciting news!!  I'm MOVING to KOREA at the end of this month!!!!!
Now for those who are wondering, I recently got a job in Korea as an English teacher (no surprise). I'm super excited about it, especially since this all happened really suddenly. I might have mentioned before, but I've been wanting to go back to Korea for the past couple of years. Pretty much ever since I came back in 2013, I wanted to go back to Korea as fast as I could. However I needed to finish my school here in the states first and get my degree. Prior to my graduation, I had requested from my adoption agency to get the documents that I needed to get my F4 Visa.

For those who don't know what a F4 visa, it's a visa that is available to foreign Koreans that want to live in Korea for a few years or who want to travel to Korea multiple times. It also allows us to hold a job, get an apartment, etc. The simplest way of putting it, is that it's as close to a dual citizenship we can have without having a dual citizenship.

Anyways, so I received all of the documents that I needed and all I was pending were the passport photos that I have to send in with my application. Well, I held onto those documents and kept putting off the photos for about a year and a half. I kept finding reasons to put it off.  At some point, I got really tired of myself. I kept saying that I was going to apply for teaching jobs soon, that I was still working on my TESOL certification, etc. But I was also finding excuses to put off applying or studying for my TESOL.

So about a month ago, I was sitting in bed and I just had that urge to just google some teaching agencies and just submit an application on the first link I found. I wasn't expecting much since I hadn't completed my TESOL certification; which is something I've been told by multiple people that I had to have in order to teach in Korea. I sent in the application on a Saturday, on the following Monday, I woke up to an email from a recruiter asking if I was eligible to hold an F4 visa. I replied stating I was, and he replied saying that they have a school that is looking for someone to start on September 1st, and to let him know if I was interested in interviewing for the position. Of course I was interested so he set up an interview for that Wednesday night. The following Monday I had an offer from the school; which I accepted. My life literally did a complete 180 in a weeks time.

I had to rush and get everything done and to finally take the passport photos that I had been putting off. Now here I am, still waiting to leave, but because I was unable to be in Korea until after September 2nd, I have to wait until the end of this month to go. Which is a little sad, but at the same time, it's exciting. I'm about to begin this whole new adventure that I never really thought would happen.

So, if you're ever in Korea starting in October, hit me up! Hopefully I'll be able to be a little more active in the upcoming weeks, prior to leaving and while I'm in Korea too.

Until next time guys!
